Ava GianGrasso is a violinist from Buffalo, New York, currently studying abroad at the University of St Andrews. A violin performance major at Washington and Lee University, she serves as concertmaster of the University Orchestra and founded the W&L String Quartet. In addition to performing at university events, Ava enjoys playing in hospitals and assisted living facilities to share her love of music with others. In her free time, she rows for the St Andrews Rowing Team and plays tenor saxophone in the W&L Jazz Ensemble. Planning to pursue a career in medicine, Ava hopes to keep music an integral part of her life through chamber groups and community ensembles while balancing her career as a physician.
